A reminder how to choose an air conditioner

  • A reminder how to choose an air conditioner

A short note on what to consider when choosing an air conditioner

    1. Power selection.

The main indicator when choosing an air conditioner or heat pump. Measured in kilowatts (kW). It is estimated that 10 sq. meters room power requirement is about 1 kW (or 1 sq m - 1 kW). For example: the area of the living room is 30 square meters. m., this will require a device with a power of at least 3 kW.

    2. Manufacturer's choice.

Manufacturers are divided into 2 main segments:

    • Premium (Daikin, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Panasonic) - Japanese manufacturers, the most advanced and reliable, but expensive.
    • Economical (Gree, Midea, AlpicAir) - significantly cheaper, but Chinese and Korean manufacturers pay more and more attention to quality and functionality.

    3. Purification of your needs.

Is just cooling enough? Do you also need heating? Do you need a Wi-Fi module or will you only connect when you are at home? Are you sensitive to noise? and similar criteria can make the choice easier without having to pay for something you won't use.
